You’ve probably heard about Dub Turbo, the new beat making software, available exclusively online. In a world where producers expect to pay top dollar for music software, how can a simple but flexible product like Dub Turbo deliver studio quality from a decent home PC?
Dub Turbo’s got people talking but is it worth the hype surrounding it? Let’s take a look at what Dub Turbo can do for beat makers who want a solution that doesn’t get caught up in complicated interfaces and difficult learning curves.
Breaking it down, we should look at the core elements of why Dub Turbo is creating such a hype storm on the internet.
Sound Quality
A lot of software these days ships with MP3 sounds, unless you’re talking about epic $600 dollar sequencers and $300 dollar sound libraries. MP3s have changed the world, but they’re compressed, to keep the file sizes small. When you compress you lose some of the detail in the sound.
Dub Turbo ships with CD quality, uncompressed sounds, in the industry standard WAV format. The difference- more detailed, higher quality sounds from the get go. That pays off when it comes to mixing, keeping it clean and clear, even if you want your sounds dirty.
Ease Of Use
Dub Turbo’s designed for beat making and it shows. You can apply it to different styles, not just rap but it’s designed for beat music, not recording an orchestra.
Which means that it can be focused on what it needs to do, giving you the tools to do the job, instead of keeping you weighed down with learning which menu command does what. Time is money when you’re making beats.
Flexibility
A good beat maker knows that the key to success is being able to create a style but apply that across different tracks. Different sounds, different tempos, different scenes, all of it can be done in house, with the Dub Turbo tools.
You can import your own samples, crush the samples out of the box and expand your sound to give you the beat making approach that gives you the tight sound you need.
Just because it’s easy to use, doesn’t mean you’re stuck with simple sounding results. As your beat making skills increase, you’ll find you can squeeze more out of Dub Turbo.
So Is It Worth It?
It’s flexible, you can get started within minutes, and it delivers industry standard sound. It’s pure beat maker software, so if you’re making beats it should be on your list, unless you want to spend months learning some epic mega sequencer in the $600+ category.
If you’re stuck in the old school mentality, I guess you’d prefer to stick with your mountain of hardware and cables, otherwise check out Dub Turbo and start making your beat making shine, right away.
